The BMF Media Institute offers youth (11-18) an enriched experience in media production, social development, and service learning. Youth will learn concepts in several disciplines including media literacy, journalism, podcasting, photography, videography, and creative writing.

Participants will publish their own works using video, audio, and the Internet. The youth empowerment component of our program aims to teach the necessary skills to be successful in academic and social settings.

Voice. Power. Purpose.

Leadership & Social Advocacy

In a society where mass media often paints distorted pictures of African-American youth, we believe in giving our young people the skills and education to create media that tells their stories and addresses issues that affect their lives and the communities in which they live. The goal is for them to make media that is a direct reflection of who they really are.

We believe in using media arts as a conduit for promoting self-expression, leadership, empowerment and social change while increasing literacy.

At Be More Fly media institute, the youth are at the center of the production process, training to be leading media makers in a competitive, ever-changing industry. In striving to foster interest in the various career opportunities mass media has to offer, Be More Fly Media Institute hopes to further the progression and success of African Americans in the media industry.
